EARN $500 — REFER A FRIEND TO NWLEA

You already know what this program can do for someone’s career. Now you can get paid to spread the word.
NWLEA’s Referral Program pays current students and graduates $500 for every new student they refer who successfully completes the program. That’s real money, especially when you’re early in your career or waiting for that first law enforcement hire.
Why It’s Worth Talking About
When you recommend NWLEA to someone, you’re not just doing them a favour. You’re pointing them toward a program with a 25-year track record of getting people hired.
Here’s what they’re signing up for:
- A recognized Law, Protection and Safety Diploma from a PVI-registered post-secondary institution
- 870 hours of practical training with current and former law enforcement professionals
- Multiple certifications included: Protective Strategies Subject Control, Canadian Firearms Safety, Restricted Weapons, and CRASE
- Resume coaching, interview prep, and hiring guidance built into the program
- A network of 40+ agencies that actively hire NWLEA graduates, including WPS (42+ hires), RCMP (55+ hires), Manitoba Provincial Corrections (81+ hires), and Federal Corrections (32+ hires)
- Approximately 70% of graduates secure employment in law enforcement or related roles
If someone you know is serious about a career in law enforcement, corrections, security, or public safety, this program gives them a real edge over other applicants.
How the Referral Award Works
The $500 award is straightforward, but three conditions have to be met:
- The person you referred must successfully graduate from the program.
- Their account with the Academy must be paid in full or in good standing at graduation.
- They must name you as the person who referred them during their Admissions Interview.
That last point is the most important one to communicate upfront. When your contact applies and sits down for their Admissions Interview, they need to say your name. That’s how the referral gets recorded. If they forget to mention you, the award can’t be processed. Make sure they know before they walk in the door.
Who Can Participate
Any current NWLEA student or graduate is eligible. There’s no limit on the number of referrals you can make.
