PVI Refund Policy
As a registered Private Vocational Institution (PVI) in Manitoba, Northwest Law Enforcement Academy follows the refund requirements set out under the Private Vocational Institutions Act and Regulation 142/2023.
Refunds are calculated using the official PVI Refund Calculator provided by the Manitoba Department of Education. This formula determines the refund amount based on how much of the program has been completed at the time of withdrawal or expulsion.
Full Refunds
A student will receive a full refund of all tuition and fees paid if:
- The Academy’s registration is cancelled.
- The Academy discontinues the program while the student is enrolled.
- The student is expelled without cause.
Partial Refunds (Prorated)
If a student voluntarily withdraws or is expelled for cause, the refund is prorated according to the percentage of the program completed, as required by the Regulation.
Refunds decrease as the program progresses and are calculated based on the student’s official withdrawal date or last day of attendance.
Attendance officially begins on Day 1 (Orientation).
| The percentage of the program completed at the time that the student ceases to be enrolled. | Percentage of paid tuition fees refunded |
| Up to 20.99% | 75% of paid tuition fees refunded |
| 21% to 50.99% | 50% of paid tuition fees refunded |
| 51% or more | No tuition fees refunded |
Students acknowledge this policy at the time of enrollment by signing and initialling the refund page of their contract with the Director of Admissions.
Notes:
- The PVI Refund Calculator determines the exact refund percentage and amount.
- Administrative or non-refundable fees identified in the enrollment contract are not subject to refund.
- Refunds are processed in accordance with provincial regulations and may take up to 30 days to finalize.
- Questions regarding refund eligibility or calculations should be directed to the Director of Student Affairs.
